In June, NeighborWorks^® Greater Manchester was named a winner of the “Housing for Everyone” grant competition for 2006 by TD Banknorth. The “Housing for Everyone” Award recognizes NeighborWorks^® Greater Manchester’s contribution to increasing the stock of affordable housing in Manchester, where rental costs are among the highest in the state. It also comes with a $15,000 financial contribution to further our work in the development of the Silver Mill Apartments Project. Designed to accommodate a range of family sizes, the Silver Mill Apartments Project is one of the largest tax credit projects by a non-profit organization in New Hampshire history and will add a total of 57 new units of affordable apartments in a neglected area of Manchester.
